Michigan Bluebird Society's Spring Bluebird Festival

  • Saturday, March 30, 2019
  • 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Calvin College Prince Center, Grand Rapids

Our friends with the Michigan Bluebird Society are hosting their annual Spring Bluebird Festival:

This year’s Festival will be held at the Prince Center on the campus of Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI.  You can read all of the details about the festival on our Spring Festival page: https://michiganbluebirds.org/springfestival

Our keynote speaker this year will be Dr. Doug Tallamy - Renowned author, biologist and native landscaping expert.  Learn about how specialized, natural relationships between insects, plants, birds and other wildlife can be created and nurtured in your yard as part of a diverse ecosystem. Seating will be limited for this presentation and we expect it to sell out. So if you wish to attend, pleas register early.

There is no admission charge for the festival itself, however there is a cost of $5.00 per person to attend the keynote speech, or join us for lunch and attend the keynote speech for just $15.00 per person.  We will also be having a nest box building workshop where you build a nest box to take home with you to put in your yard.  Cost to attend that is $25.00 and is limited to one nest box kit per family.   Go tohttps://michiganbluebirds.org/festivalregistration for all the details on how to register for these events.

If you need a hotel room to stay at either Friday or Saturday night, we have a limited supply of rooms available at the Sleep Inn & Suites in Grand Rapids reserved at a special rate.  You must call them by March 9th to receive this rate ($84.60, pus tax) and mention the Michigan Bluebird Society.  The hotel number is 616-975-9000.  We also have a limited supply of rooms available at the Prince Center (stay right where the festival is held!) for $150 per night, plus tax.  You must reserve a room by February 29th. You can reach them at 616-526-7200.  Again be sure to mention MBS when making your reservation.

This is not a Jackson Audubon Society event.
